calling Scottish members
« on: May 31, 2009, 03:37:07 PM »

Hi all,
Can i just ask if  any of the members here are from Scotland? It would be so nice to meet up for studies  etc.
We live in Fort William in the Highlands of Scotland, where we havent met any like minded people.

Not me, but if you ever want a visitor let me know, I've always wanted to see Scotland.

Sandie, my daughter and her husband have a business partner from Scotland. I will ask from where he is from. I know he visits home about once a year but I don't think he is too religious, he is meaner than ---- fill in the blanks. judy

OCH,
Thanks all of  ye  fer answerin...........and  u are all more than welcome to visit ANYTIME. It is actually the homecoming celebrations  this year, were all the clans from all over the world are coming over to meet all because its Rabbie Burns 250th celebration. I will post below  one of his wee poems. (by the way i am Northern Irish but am married to a Glasweigan)

Epitaph on Holy Willie

Here Holy Willie's sair worn clay
Taks up its last abode;
His soul has ta'en some other way
I fear, the left-hand road.

Stop! there he is as sure's a gun!
Poor, silly body, see him!
Nae wonder he's as black's the grun
Observe wha's standing wi him!

Your brunstane Devilship, I see
Has got him there before ye!
But haud your nine-tail cat a wee,
Till ance you've heard my story.

Your pity I will not implore,
For pity ye have nane,
Justice, alas! has gi'en him o'er,
And mercy's day is gane.

But hear me, Sir, Deil as ye are,
Look something to your credit:
A cuif like him wad stain your name,
If it were kent ye did it!

 God Bless  Sandie

Hi Sandy
We're holidaying in Scotland in July, and planning to go to the Highlands at some point,so if we are passing by we could drop in for a coffee or something. It's our first time in Scotland so we are doing a fair bit of travelling around. I hear the midges are fearsome, which is a bit disconcerting bearing in mind that we will be camping.
all the best
