Not at all to take anything away from Ray but I think he would be the first one to say that he's not a genius.  He's a choosen vessel that God is using.  The carnal man can not learn spiritual things no matter how smart or educated he or she might be.  God indeed has choosen the despised of the world to humble the wise.  If God can inspire Balaam's a@@ to rebuke a backslidden prophet than God can use L. Ray Smith or you and me if he chooses to.
