What must I do to be saved?
emkayfey:
One of the most reality check I've got on the forum lately was a post by Beloved in which he said "People like getting out of Hell and having more money in their pockets" how interesting, how true!
My real point here however is; I know about Ray's teaching about salvation being a process, and something that we are going through, I really want to understand that in light of theese scriptures;
Acts 16:30-31 (N I V) ; 30He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."
Acts 16:30-31 (Concordant version) ...prostrates to Paul and Silas, and, preceding them out, averred, "Masters, what must I be doing that I may be saved?" 31 Now they say, "Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household."
Maybe I'm missing the point, the above seem to suggest and understood by the apostles as 'saved' as in completion of a process. Believe on the Lord Jesus = Salvation. What do you, very helpful BTers think?

The audio links can be found here also (just fixed up your links Dave):

Getting Saved part 2: http://bible-truths.com/audio/N05 GettingSaved_p2.mp3
It's quite long but a VERY good read. I think Ray really nailed it on his teaching here; leave no question in my mind about what getting saved is all about.
I should know I've read it about 8 times ;D

Hi emkayfey,
Just a few passages Of Scripture to show the other part of that statement, Ray has covered this extensively in the Audios and the transcripts recommended. It is a great practice to listen to and read them several times, they are gifts that keep on giving.
All Scripture quotes from (MKJV)
Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, and your household.
Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.
Luk 6:46 And why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?
Joh 8:31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed on Him, If you continue in My Word, you are My disciples indeed.
Act 13:43 And the synagogue being broken up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
Act 14:22 confirming the souls of the disciples, calling on them to continue in the faith and that through much tribulation we must enter into the kingdom of God.
Rom 11:22 Behold then the kindness, and the severity of God; on those having fallen, severity; but on you, kindness, if you continue in the kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard and which was proclaimed in all the creation under Heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister,
1Ti 2:15 But she will be kept safe through childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with sensibleness.
Heb 8:9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day I took hold of their hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt," because they did not continue in My covenant, and I did not regard them, says the Lord.
1Jn 5:18 We know that everyone who has been born of God does not continue to sin, but the one born of God guards himself, and the evil one does not touch him.
