--- Quote from: jerreye on August 11, 2009, 12:35:24 PM ---Hey Daywalker, I posted a comment as well stating the truths of the salvation of all men and I just went back to it and it was GONE!!! And it only took about 3 minutes for them to delete it! Seems their heart just cannot bare the truth. Very sad indeed.

--- End quote ---

Yep, the sad part is that it's obvious that not only are they themselves deceived, but they're willfully deceiving others.

Jeremiah 5:31 The prophets have prophesied falsely, And the priests bear rule by their means, And My people have loved [it] so, And what do they at its latter end?

Jeremiah 50:6 A perishing flock has My people been, Their shepherds have caused them to err, [To] the mountains causing them to go back, From mountain unto hill they have gone, They have forgotten their crouching-place

May God be merciful; they know not what they do...

I tried really hard to watch the whole thing, but I quit when I threw up in my mouth!

Regarding Fire and Brimstone,
I recall that Ray wrote about that and I think he explained it that Fire provided heat and the brimstone in the fire was a purifying agent.  The brimstone was most likely the chemical sulfur.

Regarding what the preacher said in the first minute: I think that he has a point. Lots of people who believe in an eternity in hell fire still don't believe that it applies to them.  They may talk about hell fire being the fate of non-believers or those who don't attend their particular church, but when a close relative dies they make all kinds of excuses to explain why their beloved parent is not consigned to the hell fire that they think that they believe in for others.

It seems confusing and it certainly is a double standard.  They think that those who go to church are already saved although even a member parent who hasn't attended for years other than for weddings or funerals will still go to heaven because of the prayers of their children and other loved ones.

That may be why the Tim Conway has an audience.  These folks recognize the weaknesses and sins of men but don't include themselves in that category.  They are not terrible sinners, just children who make a few mistakes for which they are sorry.
I can just imagine the surprise that they will have when resurrected to judgment.  Shock at not being in heaven with wings or some such thing and on the other hand relief that what they are facing is a merciful Lord and savior in the fiery purification process.

Fear mongering such as this seems to carry over into our child rearing processes and it is a shame because there is so much of God's creation to teach our children to look forward to and to anticipate with joy.

Hello everyone.

While on Tim's video page two days ago, I skimmed through a few others and bumped into Paul Washer. I know he misses the part where some are administrators and helpers in the church. Or that every part is responsible for different tasks in order for the body to function as a whole. So I do admit that this purporting missionary work as the one and only true way of christianity is wrong. And there're also talks about hell  :P

But the way this man preaches repentance has got me thinking. We may be 'comfortable' with sinning because we know that GOD is the ONE who does the changing (I've seen threads on the subject). But we also know that GOD is not 'comfortable' with sin. We see this from Genesis to Revelations. This is not sarcastic: is it pleasing to GOD for us to continue sinning? To keep practicing it?

I dont mean to come down on people. I dont know what they get up to. But I know what I get up to. And this man's videos have helped me see that I ought to grovel and weep. Maybe I'm being hard on myself. And I'm definitely not 'deceived' by his antics or something like that. Sin isn't fulfilling. I don't know why we don't have any record of apostle Paul, the called & chosen chief sinner, continuing in sin after he was converted but I cant help but wonder...

All Glory to GOD

Oh, here's an example of the preaching I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWMrKcFKqzk&feature=channel
I dont know if you hear anything here but please listen to the entire thing. Sorry if it appears I'm breaking the rules but like apostle Paul said, I rejoice that here, at the very least, Christ is preached.
