The chastening I experience today is because God loves me? What a revelation! I always thought it was because God hated me, and did not want me to be happy. How self-centered is that? I don’t like to be chastened, but I now know what it’s all about. 
Apparently, my chastening is the direct result of me being disobedient to God.

As they say, we have no victims, only volunteers.
