hey f@lgn0n,
here are a few avatar names of forum members who are in south africa.  you may be able to search for their avatar name in the different sections on the forum.  i know you can go to the 'new member introductions' section and search under 'south africa', and you will see old posts from these people:

Daddysgirl,   kweli,   arcturus,   stephen,   wallaby.

that should help you get in touch with some of your neighbors.
