Best moment of the decade
Extol:
Last night my family had a time of fellowship and celebration, but I was not present because I was babysitting. This morning my parents told me about a time of reflection they had. They went around the room, and everyone said three things: best part of the decade, best part of 2009, and what they're most looking forward to in 2010. It was fun to hear them talk about it. I'm really into this kind of thing, making favorites and having "lists", etc. So I started thinking about what my answers would be. It wasn't long--a few seconds, really--before I realized that coming to bibletruths and having my eyes opened was the single best, most important, and most life-changing event for me in the past decade; and not only the past decade, but in any year of my young life. :)
"to open eyes that are blind,
to free captives from prison
and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness...
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them
and make the rough places smooth."
Isaiah 42:7,16 (NIV)
Your people will rise to life!
Tell them to leave their graves
and celebrate with shouts.
You refresh the earth
like morning dew;
you give life to the dead.
Isaiah 26:19 (Contemporary English Version)

me too.

Extol,
It has been a good decade for me as well and I've been striving to understand God's will since at least 1969. I suppose that God was working with me since before that time even though I wasn't aware of it. In my case it seemed to come in steps. First believing part of the truth along with original error and then having the scales drop from my spiritual eyes once again. Coming out of babylon is a struggle and mistakes are made that may hurt those you love the most, but the result is worth it.
Thanks for the scripture verses too, they are appropriate and helpful.
Bob
