--- Quote ---ma sai ancora un pò di Italiano no? Come va? When were you in Rome and what were you doing? I have not completely mastered the language as I was so silly not to have taken lessons immediately I arrived! I visited places and got acclimatised and then went straight to teaching English, what a foolish mistake I made! My friends were also all English mothertongue, so I had no problem socialising!! Aaaah what mistakes one does when one is young!

Hi jingle52

I was in Rome during 1978 to 1981... troppo ani fa!

I was there with my husband and his family.

I know what you mean about English. I now live in South Africa and do not converse in Africaans either.
By contrast, the Italian language if far superior!

Hi jingle52,

I live near a village called Anduze, about 30 minutes north of Nimes.

Anduze is famous for its pots, but I also have some from Tuscany, as they are high quality and reasonably priced.
