Introduction
« on: January 09, 2010, 07:40:45 PM »

Hello,
I've been reading Ray for a couple of years and just joined the forum. I was raised a Southern Baptist.
We went to church 3 or 4 times a week. I thought the Baptist were closest to bible truth. Although, I
kept thinking to my self that something was missing.
One day I found Ray's web site. WOW!!! I had already been thinking that tithing was unscriptural. Some
of the doctrines just floored me. Some of his teachings I couldn't immediatly accept, but more and more
of Gods truth began to sink in.
Anyway, this is where I am now. I don't want to go to church. We hear the same things all the time.
If I hear one more sermon on the prodical son I think that I will throw up (symbolically). There is no
edification there for me. Your comments or advise will be appreciated.

Hi Felix and welcome.

As for comments, I can't do better than:  Rev 18:4  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Some are weighing this decision.

Some have had the decision made for them after spirtually following the spiritual example of Christ:

Luk 4:16  And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
Luk 4:28  And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
Luk 4:29  And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

...and been kicked out.

Some couldn't wait to be free.

We're all in there somewhere.

I look forward to fellowship with you.

Hi Felix,

Welcome to the Forum, I understand what you mean about hearing the same things " over and over again." I was a JW for twenty years, leaving that group in 2004. I added Kathy's(Ninny) comment above, it's a good analogy; " Misfit Toys," but only from Man's perspective, but I can relate to her point.

                          Kind Regards, Samson.

Hello Felix, welcome to the forums.

I don't want to go to church.

Heb 12:22  But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,
Heb 12:23  to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,
Heb 12:24  and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.

Glad to hear you have "come out of her", and welcome to where we believe we can assemble (have church) "in spirit and in truth" everyday and all day anywhere! ;)

Peace, G.Driggs
