If you could ask God just 1 question

[zander]

What would it be? (apart from asking him the outcome of various sports events so i could bet on them)

Without thinking about it too much, mine would be - What caused YOU, how did you get here? (Ok thats 2)

[worm]

why mosquitos and cockroaches?

[Gill]

Can i add spiders and daddy-long-legs?

I think i would ask why He planned for the scriptures to be butchered.  I have my thoughts on why, but that's what i'd ask.

Gill,

im not God   but here is one reason

Isa 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

I would ask why such a plan that needed one to be broken, snared, and taken.  Why the drama?  Pain?  Suffering??   Just make us all perfect ready to be "all in all" with You.  Who needs this life???  Why has this lasted thousands of years???

Well, that was more than one.

[zander]

I also wanted to ask that question.  But i can imagine his answer to be "because i chose to".

I'm debating between "What caused you, how did you get here?" and "What are the winning lottery numbers for Mega-Millions".

Though, I think I'd ask the latter.

[Falconn003]

I to would go for the lotto numbers, as"all will know rightousness.

[zander]

so would i (but i attached a condition on no gambling) [-X

I read this post before Zander but didn't reply. Now in my haste I didn't read it again and didn't notice the 'no gambling part'.

So with not  "asking for things like lottery numbers and or the winning team of World Cup soccer (Romania \/  )  etc..." I like you would ask "What caused you, how did you get here?". And perhaps that'll help explain the reason why we are here as well. I would also like to know how he came up with so many different languages that are in this world, since supposedly he
did all at the Tower of Babel. He really did a number on the Chinese/Japanese language/Alphabet, eh?

I don't know, I have so many unanswered questions it's hard to narrow it down to just one. I would also like to know if " They will be like the angels
and won't be given into marriage " really means "no more sex". I mean didn't Jesus speak in parables unto the multitudes, and without a parable spake He not unto them right? So then, that time He got confused and spoke plainly to them? Aren't His words Spirit? So then why should we take that literally? Thoughts?

Oops! But I don't want to hijack Zander's thread. So I guess if people wish to discuss that they can just pm me or start a thread, or tell me too.

[Falconn003]

Ok no gambling.....shucks.....

I would ask God about " 1" and all it's spiritual concepts.

[SandyFla]

why mosquitos and cockroaches?

 Especially cockroaches. Too bad Noah didn't smash those 2 when he had the chance!

[SandyFla]

But seriously, folks ...

I would ask God why He didn't let me die when I was a baby.

[carol v]

Why is evil so evil?

Couldn't we have learned how bad are without the beheadings in Iraq, the medical experiments without anesthesia on the Jews, child torturers...well y'all know.

[longhorn]

What's taking so dang long?

Hi Chuck,
i find myself asking how anyone could study without the use of lexicons, a gazillion translations and the internet.  What about the writings that aren't part of cannonized scripture?  What about the writings that are?  Just goes to show that the only real way to know the Lord and be known by Him is to do as He says  .   But yes, He certainly has made the written word to be a stumbling block as much as anything else.

[insanezenmistress]

so many excellent questions......let me quothe form the gospel according to the Band Rush.....

"Well, you can stake that claim
Good work is the key to good fortune
Winners take that praise
Losers seldom take that blame
If they don't take that game
And sometimes the winner takes nothing
We draw our own designs
But fortune has to make that frame

We go out in the world and take our chances
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That's the way that lady luck dances
Roll the bones

Why are we here?
Because we're here
Roll the bones
Why does it happen?
Because it happens
Roll the bones

Faith is cold as ice
Why are little ones born only to suffer
For the want of immunity
Or a bowl of rice?
Well, who would hold a price
On the heads of the innocent children
If there's some immortal power
To control the dice?

We come into the world and take our chances
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That's the way that lady luck dances
Roll the bones

Jack -- relax.
Get busy with the facts.
No zodiacs or almanacs,
No maniacs in polyester slacks.
Just the facts.
Gonna kick some gluteus max.
It's a parallax -- you dig?
You move around
The small gets big. It's a rig
It's action -- reaction
Random interaction.
So who's afraid
Of a little abstraction?
Can't get no satisfaction
From the facts?
You better run, homeboy
A fact's a fact
From Nome to Rome, boy.

What's the deal? Spin the wheel.
If the dice are hot -- take a shot.
Play your cards. Show us what you got
What you're holding.
If the cards are cold,
Don't go folding.
Lady Luck is golden;
She favours the bold. That's cold
Stop throwing stones
The night has a thousand saxophones. So get out there and rock,
And roll the bones.
Get busy!

Roll the bones

Why are we here?
Because we're here
Roll the bones
Why does it happen?
Because it happens
Roll the bones

........god is the recipetical of all Knowledge, we are the receptrical of infinite questions, he must fill us to the complete so that we may comune and be His creation after His image... knowing and well seasoned in the knowledge of good and evil, like he is. that takes drama, that takes pain, that takes defeating all our sin under the power of his Blood....and by His very Name, Jesus Christ our redeemer.

there is a lesson to be learned in every aspect of your life, that will compele you....( us all in his perfect time) into the Image of His righteousness. Whats the point of it all?!.............

that we may know the Lord and he may know us and fill up all in all.

that The Lord can have what he's always wanted..A people that walk with him in all their ways, of undivided mind, which is carnality......self-reflection reather than god reflection.........in my oppinon.
