Rom 2:28  For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that outwardly in flesh;
Rom 2:29  but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart; in spirit and not in letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

how beautiful the word of the Lord is.  Yes i consider myself ruin for the gospel sake.  Thanking God for giving me this truth that God has chosen  Ray and a few others to reveal on his site.  No longer am i caught up in the deceptions of the wicked, on the subjects of free will, tiding, hell, and the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I am trying to find the scripture verse i ran across a few weeks ago about not being distracted  its in the new testament, not the 4 gospels of math. ect.
is each day busy enough to be filled?  we live in a time that our society has dictated a life style which very few has obtain, the rich mainly, but we have been subliminally by t.v. mainly,to strive for, materialism.   So what does our minds do?  how do we fill our hours?  in America?  looking at each other?  peggy

Hey Peggy,

I know you said not in the book of Matthew, but this sounded a lot like what you are describing. Perhaps another member will help find the exact scripture you are referring to:

Matt 6:19-21, 24-34  Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon [Gk. 'money']. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Marky Mark:
Hello Peggy.
Maybe this?

1Pe 1:13  So make your minds ready, and keep on the watch, hoping with all your power for the grace which is to come to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1Pe 1:14  Like children ruled by God, do not go back to the old desires of the time when you were without knowledge:
1Pe 1:15  But be holy in every detail of your lives, as he, whose servants you are, is holy;
1Pe 1:16  Because it has been said in the Writings, You are to be holy, for I am holy.
1Pe 1:17  And if you give the name of Father to him who, judging every man by his acts, has no respect for a man's position, then go in fear while you are on this earth:
1Pe 1:18  Being conscious that you have been made free from that foolish way of life which was your heritage from your fathers, not through a payment of things like silver or gold which come to destruction,
1Pe 1:19  But through holy blood, like that of a clean and unmarked lamb, even the blood of Christ:
1Pe 1:20  Who was marked out by God before the making of the world, but was caused to be seen in these last times for you,
1Pe 1:21  Who through him have faith in God who took him up again from the dead into glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.

Peace...Mark
