Please pray for my wife's niece and her family.
« on: July 29, 2010, 07:58:14 AM »

She was shot a couple hours ago and my wife is with them at the clinic awaiting a medivac jet. Her name is Shanna and she is only nine. We are in total shock. :'(

Thank you

Thank you Arc.

I haven't heard anything more yet, and I don't know if the jet has left yet cause we would have heard it.

I have known Shanna's father since we were kids, and I have shared quite a bit with him what I have learned here. He quickly and surprisingly accepted the idea of no hell and no free will.

His daughter loves attention, and she always had the cutest smile on her face whenever someone would talk to her. My heart is so heavy right now, she always said hi to me or waved at me whenever I saw her.

Lord have mercy on that precious little girl and her family.

Thank you Nan.

My wife just got back from the clinic and told me the jet will be leaving in about an hour for Anchorage.

Turns out an 12 year old boy threatened Shanna then shot her in the chest with a .22 rifle. So please remember the boy and his family in your prayers through this tough time of which God is in complete control of.

Shanna is such a trooper, she has refused pain killers and they are trying to keep her awake. The parents are taking it hard. The father will be escorting her to Anchorage. They have told the parents to be prepared for the worst.

Thank you all so very much for your prayers.

They operated on Shanna, took her off the life support and she is now in stable condition and able to breath on her own. They will be keeping her for a couple weeks in the Anchorage hospital for observation.

This has been such an humbling experience, which just leaves me in awe of the Lord and His ways.

Considering that I have shared with Shanna's father the truths I have been learning here, it's possible he might have some questions, so please pray God grant me the wisdom and the courage if need be "to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason of the hope in you".

Once again thank you all, and thank God.

Yes, thank God. Been thinking of your little Shanna all day. Please keep us updated on how she is doing.
Also on the family of the young boy. The aftermath of this incident for them and their child will be tough.

better news indeed george. i pray for shanna to grow stronger physically and to be able to work through all that she has ahead of her. for you i pray that the words will be given you to speak to shanna's dad (and any others) if and when asked to give a reason for the hope that lies within you. be assured george that God's timing is always perfect, and you are where He knows you are needed. i also take to heart the 12 yr old boy who shot shanna. his road will be hard, and his family will carry the load. i pray that God's mercy will rain down on all.

I pray and agree with every word Claudia spoke. We have had farm kids here who this happens to. Actually, the city kids more. They don't realize.

Sorry Brother George,

Sorry for being late in responding to this one, I read it last night from my Cell Phone where I'm able to read Posts, but can't sign In and comment. Glad to hear that Shanna should probably make it. Regarding the discussion with Her Father you've having and a continuation of it, I'm sure you will do just fine(1Peter.3:15).  Even with all we know about the Myth of Free Will and God's Sovereignty, it still causes me to wonder what possessed a 12 year old Boy to shoot someone. You wonder what kind of a childhood He's been having. My prayers go out in your behalf and Shanna's.

                                    What's Next, Samson.
