once people asked me:"where is GOD came from?"
I said:"where is you came from?"
he said:"my mother and my father."
I asked him:"where is your mother and father came from?"
he answered:"grandpa and grandma."
I asked him:"where is your grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-grandpa came from?"
he answered:"I don't know."
I said:"so you didn't even know where is your grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-grandpa came from............. WHY you asked me that where is GOD came from?"
he said:"cuz I don't believe in GOD."
I said:"ugh?if you don't believe in GOD,why you asked me that where is GOD came from?"

--- Quote from: janine kindahl on September 02, 2010, 12:35:33 PM ---They don't think they believe in God but they are maybe asking you to explain why you do. Maybe they know there is a God deep in their hearts (His word is written in our hearts) but desire more understanding. Good opportunity friend.

--- Quote from: janine kindahl on September 02, 2010, 02:02:04 PM --- His heart probably deeply desires to know and understand God. He probably sees something in you and wants it too (joy, peace etc). He is hoping you will explain the hope that is in you, where it came from (God drew you).
Marques has a good thread going now (on general discussion "best approach") on how we could approach people who ask these kind of questions; where and how to start. We all certainly face challenges when trying to know how best to approach the subject. Every situation is a little different. Every person inquiring is a little different, coming from different backgrounds, cultures, preconceived ideas etc.
I know I have a really difficult time too my friend. Most people will, or can not understand. God has to draw them first too before they will even be receptive to listening to you. It is good that you care to share your joy in Him!
Blessings my friend.

this one joke really meaningful.
no offend, but a fact in the world.
Gen 2:17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."
Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"
Gen 3:2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,
Gen 3:3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "
Gen 3:4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman.
Gen 3:5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
