Colors

I looked at my crayon box.
Funny there are more crayons than sox's in my drawer.
So, I am tore.
Which one for my chore?
I hear a knock at the door.
"Yes," I say.
My wife walks my way.
"What are you doing?" she ask.
"Trying to find a color for my task."
"And what task would that be?"
"I'm trying to find the color to help people see me, and I don't know which to choose."
She looks at me with a bit of muse.
She kisses  me on my head and said,
"All the colors you see and no color to color thee?  Let me see.  Think about it this way and do not dismay.  Attitude is the crayon with which we color the world, and ourselves.  Into our hearts we must delve, and our minds we must change, and change it with might.  The reason for all the colors is so we can see the light."
She left my room and I thought.
Whether  robes of red or green or rainbows of every hue,  all is light when we don't color the glass so darkly.

AWE-inspired

 Hope you enjoy
Love to all,
Ken

 Hi Ken!

I enjoyed your poem!   :)

..."don't color the glass so darkly...."   EXACTLY!  8) That’s a beautiful parable message!  :) 8)

Blessings to you, as God leads and guides all.
Deb

Eph 5:19  speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

BEHOLD THE LIGHT
A friend went away for a day
He came back but with some delay
Was it right or night, a fight or plight
Yet into the night he did foray
In the wee hours of the morning
He came back a calling
No delay stalling
With excitement and delight
He’d been christened  a Knight
He’d won the apparel of Glory
And he came back with a story
In the day you can see
In the night, its only me
In the morning is the Glory
And at sun set the Story
What on earth was he saying
Was his mind off a straying
Ah but we’d not moved an inch
We’d not strayed a cinch
This wild and wonderful fellow
Was designed but to mellow
In the confines of His knowing
He’d return with his sowing
We’d not know what he meant
For the colors that were spent
Were of all that he knew
And then some ~ a few
Our God so victorious
Told him what is notorious
So he came back to show
That all colors do know
That they have origin in light
Not in might nor in fight
But in white spotless delight
From whence all is just right.
The Plan of God  by God  designed
The ploys and games of man
That make the Knight into a sham.
Color on soldier blue
There are but a few
To which we once knew
A man who likewise came
And His Voice was to His shame.
Yet we know His Love and Name
We hear Him still in colors refined
Not life resigned or soul acquitted
We love Him still His Life remitted
Our weaknesses and woes
Upon Him we lay our foes
We know He knows our troubles
We trust His Voice to rise above
All we see when we can’t love
His Spirit is True
His Life ever new
To us and you, He comes to few
Not in number but in progress
God's all in the process!

hi ken, nice to see you surface again.   i enjoyed your poem, and the line i noted above reminded me of 1 cor. 13:12 where it says "for now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:"...

thanks for the colorful reminder of His Love.

claudia

ps.  the "then face to face" part of the scripture reference, makes me so excited.  8)
