Meaning and origins of "Jehovah"
« on: January 07, 2011, 10:55:16 AM »

I read a book called "Fossilized Customs".  In it, Lew White states that "Jehovah" is a made-up word, taking the tetragrammatron YHWH and the vowels from "adonai".  I have verified this on the Net.  What I can't find any info on is the incidental meaning of the word in Hebrew.  Lew says it is "wickedness", which I found ironic because of the misled Jehovah's Witnesses.  I can only find other meanings of it, none of which are anything close, and few match each other.  Can anyone point me in the right direction for information?  Thank you.

Ray has spoke about the "sacred name socities" and what I learned from Rays teaching on the subject is "there are all bunk".
