What is Jesus going to do when He comes back?
gmik:
I sort of wonder what Jesus is doing RIGHT NOW and until the end (maybe thousand more years)...what exactly does "seated at the right hand of God" mean
He can't be just sitting
Scripture can sure be vague sometimes
mharrell08:
Working all things according to the counsel of His Will [Eph 1:11], Having the entire universe consist in Him [Col 1:17], Abiding in His disciples [John 14:23], etc.
Basically doing a mighty work in all things is the best way I could put it.

To my knowledge, "seated at the right hand of God" symbolizes Christ's position as pertains to His power, authority and leadership. Joseph was the 'right hand man' of the Pharaoh of Egypt. Mordecai was the 'right hand man' of King Ahasuerus of the Persian Empire (book of Esther). Jesus has authority over all of His Father's creation. Only the Father Himself has authority over Jesus.
Hope this helps.

Hello Gina. Marques and Christopher gave great answers. Here is something to add, if you will.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
To be seated with God is to overcome the pulls of the flesh and all that the flesh has to offer. Jesus the Christ has shown us the way through His Word on how to succeed by way of Spirit and Truth. He is now seated at the right hand of God because He overcame that flesh.
The right hand is the symbol of power throughout scripture.
Exo 15:6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
Mat 26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
Mat 26:63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
Mat 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Mar 14:61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
Mar 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
And righteousness.
Psa 48:10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
Isa 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Hope this helps some.
Peace...Mark

Hi Gena,
Just a few thoughts to add to what the others are saying.
The right hand is usually the stronger of the two. It has traditionally been held out as a symbol of friendship and trust. The right hand side is also the position of honor.
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority is given to Me in Heaven and in earth.
Jesus Christ received and holds this highest position of dignity, honor and glory possible under the Father. There is only one right hand position of the Father and Christ is given this position that is exalted above all else with great power and glory. He is 'seated' on the throne with His Father, this is a symbol of holding an elevated place of authority, indeed the most elevated place there is, under the Father.
Rev 3:21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame and have sat down with My Father in His throne.
mercy, peace and love
Kat
