Do Spirits have Bodies
« on: February 01, 2011, 11:39:22 AM »

Here is a good subject to think about DO Spirits really have bodies ,  Does such a thing exist as a SPIRIT [BODY], Does GOD have a BODY, are Angels Spirit Beings or do they have Bodies of some kind or do they exist without bodies? We all know we humans have bodies with spirits in them, because it say when a man dies his body goes into the earth an corrupts but the spirit goes to him who gave it GOD. In the resurrection will we have to have bodies or not?

1 Cor 15:35-44  But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?” Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies. And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain. But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.

All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

The Father does not have a body as He is invisible [Rom 1:20, Col 1:15, 1 Tim 1:17]. Jesus is Spirit [2 Cor 3:17] but can appear in any bodily form of His choosing [Mark 16:12, Lk 24:36, etc.]. Angels are also spiritual beings who can appear in bodily form [Gen 18:2-3, Joshua 5:13, Lk 1:11-12].

Hope this helps,
