Listen to the counsel presented by Marques, study the Scriptures, meditate on them, examine the material, remember: The sum of God's word is truth and no Scripture is it's own interpretation, you need 2 or more scriptural witnesses to firmly establish a matter, compare spiritual with spiritual, First comes the Physical and then the Spiritual. Keep that last phase in mind when examining the false teaching of "Eternal" Punishment in all it's various forms. Remember that all Bible Translations & Versions are capable for obtaining Truth. If one main translation error was corrected in all of them, they would all be mostly accurate with only minor mistakes. That main error is translating the Greek word Aion and it's derivatives Aions & Aionios to falsely mean Eternal, Everlasting & Forever. Aion is An Age or Eon; Aions is Ages or Eons and Aionios(The adjective) is Eonian or Age-lasting. Ray brings this out in the Topic: Which bible Translation is Best. Also Read: 12 Truths to Understanding God's Word and the Article mentioned in Marques Post above: Seven foundational Truths.
Also, Your Calvinist "friend" believes that everything is predetermined or predestined and Man has no free will or free moral agency, so in that aspect, We at Bible Truths agree with this. It was predetermined that you would find this Site and discover Truth, that your EX-Associates would be displeased, so what's the worry, Your only making the choices as a result of the causes that occurred in your life, so there's nothing they can do to stop what God has predetermined in your life. Don't worry, It's God's Pleasure, Will, Desire that ALL Mankind is Saved and that NONE Perish or are destroyed. There is no Scripture that says God DOESN'T Will that all Men are saved and that He desires some or all to be destroyed. Since the Bible says that God does not Lie, it would make Him liar if He didn't Save all.

If you haven't read it yet read the '12 truths to understanding God's word' on the website. This will help you put some meat on the bones. I agree with Marques and others that you have to be patient and God will bring you along at the speed he has determined for you and for most of us it does take time. Ray's tithing paper was what first brought me to the website and I couldn't argue with the scriptures and the way he put them together. Then when I read that Ray didn't believe or teach in the Christian 'hell' I left the website and didn't come back for almost a year. I thought 'even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then'. How could anyone be a Christian and not believe in hell? But, God was working on me and a year later I came back and read the LOF series and have been here ever since. We live in an instant society where we want it now and I certainly wanted not only an understanding of these truths NOW but assurance from any doubts as well.
Ray has a saying that says 'if something you study is true the more studying you do the more it is proven to be true. If something you study is false the more true study you do proves it to be false.' In time you will have these truths proven to your inner man and you won't have to question them anymore. It takes a long time for most of us to come out from under the false teaching we have been in. I remember crying out to God that I just wanted the truth....whatever it is. My angst is that I had believed falsehood in the past so how could I know that what I learned here was the truth? The truth is built line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little as we can accept it. God will bring you to where you need to be when you need to be there. Would a loving heavenly father and shepherd of the sheep not lead his lambs to safety?

I feel a need to share a little about myself if it will help and be an encouragement to others.
My father was a Baptist minister and both my parents are graduates of Moody Bible Institute. I attended a semester at Baptist Bible
Seminary and Bob Jones University. So I am FULLY acquainted with the "Church of Babylon" and it's teachings.
Therefore, I was introduced to this Web-site and read for 14 straight hours as I couldn't stop reading! I ALSO had to FIGHT tooth and
nail WITH EVERY SINGLE new doctrine until all-of-a -sudden like a light from heaven-it all fell into place! Oh, the agnst and struggles as the new learning challenged the old! I just couldn't argue with the overwhelming scriptural evidence presented with each postulation.
SOOO, I truly identify with each and every one that is going through the "rejuvenation" process. Don't feel discouraged if you stumble,
question and doubt--it's all in the process. Some, like above, have even left for a time before being DRAWN back. It takes time to "wrap your mind" around it all and sometimes you DO have to take a break for it all to settle. Don't give up.
I thank God that HE had patience with me as He opened up my eyes! I feel like one "of the few who are chosen" to understand.

Hopeful, you are in growing pains and we all went/will go thru---sometimes when one aspect settles in quite nicely, our beast rears its ugly head in another area. Read Paul's epistles...he struggled and so will we.
We don't have to try to SAVE the world....yahooooooooooooo
Let others have their silly beliefs..just be a good friend/or whatever and show love.
Everytime I open my mouth and say something, I always wish I wouldn't have. ha

Amen to the above Gena, I don't want the responsibility of " Trying to Save the World," That's the Job of Jesus(1 John. 4:14) and He is more than capable of accomplishing this task. Insert Foot in Mouth, Samson is guilty as charged too.
