--- Quote from: JohnMichael on May 02, 2011, 07:56:25 AM ---Was anyone else sad when he/she heard about this - or grieved?
--- End quote ---
I was more saddened by the cheerful reaction of seemingly everybody. As for bin Laden, I just tell myself, as I do when anyone dies, "He will live again." :)
--- End quote ---
True. That's part of what grieved me. How everyone is relishing in the death of another human being.
--- Quote from: Dave in Tenn on May 02, 2011, 08:32:14 AM ---I didn't really have an emotion, John. I was trying to watch the news without getting angry with the talking heads. It's going to take a bit to process this. The best I can do right now is to not join any parades. That's doable.
I have to remember that God's will IS done on earth as it is in Heaven, though not always for the reasons that anybody thinks. If the sermon on the mount is for true disciples, then it is not for the Church world or the world at large. (see quote above) For now, I'm going to let the dead bury the dead.
--- End quote ---
It just grieved me that humanity enjoys killing each other. Regardless of his past actions, he was still a human being, you know? If that makes me unpatriotic, so be it. He will still be brought into the family of God - that gives me comfort. :)

Anyone know the scripture reference: God is not pleased by the death of the wicked...or somethng like that...can't find it in my concordance
but that is what I would like to put on FB but I am going to stay out of the fray....

Am I the only one here that's not exactly 'upset' per se? Surely we all know that this was a part of God's plan the entire time.

Not having anyone (family member - friends) who lost their lives Sept 11, I guess it is somewhat easier to distant myself from the personal effects of his death. Can't honestly say how I would feel if I had lost a loved one or close friend. I still struggle with anger when someone cut's me off on the highway. I grew up in a military family ( Dad is retired Major General ) in the Air Force, so I'm pretty much just trying to stay out of the " what do you think " conversations with family.
