Why?
« on: May 30, 2011, 05:01:33 PM »

Dear Patrick:  I will make a few COMMENTS.... in your email:

Dear Ray,

I admire your zeal for teaching and passion for God and the doctrines you teach are scripturally sound. My questions are:

1.  If bible truths is not a religion, what would you call it?

COMMENT:  "bible-truths.com" is an Internet site.

2. why do you not have a statement of faith like the other religions do?

COMMENT:  Because I am not like "others," and I am not a "religion,"
and I never saw a statement of faith or creed that was Scriptural or
correct in the first place.  So instead of trying to impress people with
trite jargon like: "We believe in the inspiration and trustworthiness of
the Holy Scriptures" (imagine a Christian creed which states that they
do NOT believe in the inspiration of the Scriptures), I expose many of
those religions who DO have elaborate creeds and statements of faith.

3. Why are your papers so long and lack footnotes, biblography e.g.

COMMENT:  I find it difficult to shorten most of my papers and still cover the subject
adequately.  By being a little longer and covering more arguments, etc., I avoid hundreds
and thousands of questions that would arise if my papers were shorter and contained less
information.  Footnotes are fine, I guess, but I just got used to quoting my sources
right in the text, and that way I can be reasonably sure that they will actually read
and see what it is that I am commenting on.

Don't know if that helps you much.
God be with you,

Ray

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just asking why.

Don't bother replying to this Ray, I'd rather you just take the time to keep doing what you're doing which is studying and working on your papers.  I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and I understand your answers completely. You know what you are doing and it definitely squashes my concerns completely that you are what others would call a "cult"  Keep up the good work, I look forward to more of your writings and studies in the future. You definitely teach the truths of God!  Thank you for your time.

Patrick
