Pray for me
« on: May 30, 2011, 11:48:09 PM »

Please Pray for me that I may overcome lust sins in my life and all other sins. There's a difference between love and lust. I always find myself sinning though I don't mean to. I've exercised self-control and sometimes been for long periods of time without looking at pornography but find myself going back to it after awhile. I always get back up to resist the devil because I'm not a quitter. I wouldn't exactly call it an addiction but I know all too well that it's a sin. Perhaps it's a lighter-form of addiction? :( My mind takes me to the following verses of Scripture which I believe God lead me to. I remember of recent when somebody posted them. I think that it was on this site. God has lead me also to the matter that I must take every thought into the obedience of Christ.

Proverbs 24:16-18 (Young's Literal)

16 For seven [times] doth the righteous fall and rise, And the wicked stumble in evil. 17 In the falling of thine enemy rejoice not, And in his stumbling let not thy heart be joyful, 18 Lest Jehovah see, and [it be] evil in His eyes, And He hath turned from off him His anger.

1 Corinthians 10:5 (Concordant Literal)

5 pulling down reckonings and every height elevating itself against the knowledge of God, and leading into captivity every apprehension into the obedience of Christ,

Could you Pray for me? Thank you.

Matthew: 18-22 (Concordant Literal)

20 For where two or three are, gathered in My name, there am I in the midst of them."
21 Then, approaching, Peter said to Him, "Lord, how many times shall my brother be sinning against me and I shall be pardoning him? Till seven times?"
22 Jesus is saying to him, "I am not saying to you 'Till seven times,' but 'Till seventy times and seven,'

Hi Hope In Christ,

I noticed that Your 22 years Old, a Young Male at the peak of that dreaded testosterone, a definite Hormone that contributes to the " Pulls of the Flesh," in this case, as with many Young ones, the peak towards sexual desires. These desires are very strong in most and as You already know are only properly expressed through Marriage. I can sympathize with You, being glad I'm 54 and not 22 anymore in regards to the influence of passion on oneself. I could suggest that you make the effort to avoid anything that might stimulate that desire, Pornography and other things, etc, but if it's in your Mind, only God will remove this desire in You, When He has planned to do so. You should pray incessantly about this, hopefully before engaging in any of this and ask God to remove this desire. It's very difficult to completely avoid everything that feeds your Mind with the Flames of desire. My Wife and I went to Walmart this Evening, it's been very Hot & Humid, the last couple of Days with Girls walking around with hardly any clothes on, unless Your blind, it's impossible not to see this. Sin & it's desires emanate from Our Carnal Mind, so it stands to reason that only it's complete removal will completely solve your problem.

Here are some Email responses of Ray for You to Ponder over.

Dear Charles:

As these are matters of the spirit, only God can ultimately help you to understand. I will, however, attempt to point you in the right direction.

I realize that almost all people when dealing with this matter of free will, unknowingly use words that are not accurate and often defamatory in trying to rectify God's works in their minds.  We cannot force God's ways in to OUR WAYS. Yet we have all been guilty of trying to do this most of our lives.

God plainly speaks at times, and at others He speaks in mysteries. Here is a plain statement from God that explains the mysterious ones:

"For My thoughts ARE NOT your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, SO [in like manner] are My ways HIGHER than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts"  (Isa. 55:8-9).

Now there IS the answer, yet we will not accept that answer because we don't understand that answer.  Why then do you and most of the world have a problem with God and His operation of things, and I don't?  Why do you use the "CONTRADICTION" and I don't.  Is there any way to bridge this dichotomy of God's thoughts and our thoughts?  Yes there is:

"Let this MIND BE IN Y-O-U, which was also in Christ Jesus..." (Phil. 2:5).

Without the mind of God, we will never understand the spiritual things of God. They will ALWAYS seem like "foolishness" to the carnal mind.

"But the natural man receives NOT the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED"  (I Cor. 2:14).

As it is absolutely Scripturally true that man has no free will, and therefore is always subject to the higher powers that be, when people begin to see this truth, they often balk at it and feel that God is unfair and that man is being judged for things that God MADE HIM DO AGAINST HIS WILL. When in reality, NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!!

Most of the human race has always believed that it possesses "free will."   And so as long as any man believes this falsehood, he is operating in his own little world with absolutely no grudge against God for his personal decisions.  But when he begins to see that he has no free will, he then does begin to think that he has a justifiable grudge against God for MAKING HIM SIN. He was wrong when he thought that he had free will, and he is just as wrong when he thinks that the only alternative is that God MAKES HIM SIN AGAINST HIS OWN WILL.

I have stated many times that God DOES NOT MAKE OR FORCE ANYONE TO SIN AGAINST HIS OWN WILL-- MAN DESIRES TO SIN, WANTS TO SIN, AND THEREFORE VOLUNTEERS TO SIN.  God did not FORCE or MAKE Eve eat of the forbidden fruit. Her own DESIRES caused her to lust and eat of the forbidden fruit.

And so the real question is: "Does God have the right to make mankind subject to the desires of their own heart?"  Think about it, as I have, for a few thousand hours, and maybe God will grant to you the spiritual understanding of this matter.

Hundreds of totally deceived and spiritually blind Christians have told me that: "God does not want robots to love Him-- He desires people to love Him by their OWN FREE WILL." Oh really? And can the carnal mind indeed love God by its own nature; its own heart; its own desires? NO IT CAN'T! And so the very thing that Christians demand as necessary for our love for God to be genuine, is the very thing that totally disqualifies it from being genuine. The natural mind is totally incapable of  loving God:

"For the carnal mind is enmity [deep-seated HATRED] AGAINST GOD..." (Rom. 8:7).

It all starts with God, not with us:

"We love Him [God] because He FIRST LOVED US"  (I John 4:19).

God created mankind spiritually WEAK--subject to the lusts and sins of his own heart, so that man will learn that he CANNOT love God first; he cannot obey spiritual laws and commandments; he cannot please God; he cannot accomplish anything of lasting value through his wicked and deceitful heart. (Jer. 17:9). And therefore God's ways will justify His means. The rewards and the blessings are not even to be compared with the glory that God is creating in the human race (Rom. 8:18).

And so here is the answer to your question:

BEFORE spiritual conversion man FALSELY THINKS that he has free will and is for all intent and purpose a god unto himself.

AFTER spiritual conversion man will be eternally thankful that God never gave his such a foolish concept as "free will," or he would never ever realize the marvelous highest of power and glory that God has in mind for him.

And presently, you and some few others, are in between these two extremes of human understanding. I will pray for God to grant to you "spirit of wisdom" so that you will comprehend and apprehend the marvelous and mysterious working of our God.

God be with you,

Ray

Dear ray,
            > My name is jenifer and I am 12.now my question is..In our society today..How
            > can we deal with all the pressure of things such as the pressure to take
            > drugs, have sex, ect.I asked a priest about this and he only said"Just pray to
            > God"thats whay they always say.Pray to god and everything will be better.Isnt
            > there anything else we can do other then "pray to god?"Sometimes I feel god
            > isnt there and that he's not listening to what Im trying to say.Just lemme get
            > to the point. How can we deal with pressure in our world today.
            >
            > Dear Jenifer:

Jenifer, the best advice I can give you is to listen to your parents, teachers, and obey the law. They can tell you from their own experience how to avoid the dangers in following the temptations of the world and the lusts of our own flesh and mind. We are tempted to do things that look like they will be FUN, or we do them so that we are ACCEPTED by our friends and schoolmates. Both reasons can be very dangerous and harmful.  When you are tempted to try something or do something or go somewhere that you feel in your heart and conscience may not be the best thing to do, ASK YOUR PARENTS. If you are embarrassed to ask your parents or teachers, FOR SURE IT IS WRONG. Listen Jenifer, there are many things in life that will look like they are fun today, but will not be fun tomorrow. The girl who has casual sex tonight will not feel nearly as sexy and excited a few weeks later when she discovers that she is pregnant.  And drugs? Drugs will either destroy you or kill you.  ; ; ; Look at someone who has been on drugs for a long time, and then ask yourself if you want to end up like that? YES YOU WILL END UP LIKE THAT!  Talk to your parents about EVERYTHING.  They will understand and they will help you make it through the difficult years ahead of you.  And yes, you just might try that "pray to God" thing also.

God be with you, Jenifer. Make your parents PROUD!!

            Ray

Dear Garrett:
Yours is a common frustration. Many write me with similar struggles
with the flesh after coming into a knowledge of the Truth. I did the
same. I left my First Love and went back into the world, all the while
knowing that I couldn't conquor my flesh. I was so happy for what I
'preceived to be "greasy grace."  Thank God for grace, because I knew
I wasn't going to be saved without it.
I still believe that that part of it is true (about saved by grace only), but
I also know that it is possible when God gets ready, to conquor your
major sins so that sin no longer "reigns over you."  You will not be totally
perfect and mature, but you will not be giving into every pull of the flesh,
for sexual gratification, lust for money, power, good looks, eternal youth,
perfect health, interesting job, travel and excitement, etc., etc., etc.  You
will learn to enjoy the simple pleasure of life like, breathing, sleeping,
walking, talking to your wife, eating a pizza, and going to bed early on a
Saturday night.
God will make you really WANT to stop sinning, long before you will
ACTUALLY stop sinning. It's part of the struggle; part of the good
fight of faith; part of overcoming the flesh.  Don't become discouraged, as
God WILL SEE YOUR THROUGH!

God be with you,
Ray

Is there anyone capable of stopping to personally sin in their lifetime on earth?  Can you? I make the effort but at times fall short, most things about the Bible are confusing to me, especially if I try to ponder on them.  Does this mean that God is purposefully making me blind to awareness?  I am seeking the Lord,  I have diligently been seeking understanding since I wrote you a couple months ago.  I have read the majority of what you have written and it makes sense, but I am continually struggling and the more I learn, the more I realize I have to learn more!  More than what you write!  More!

        Dear Chad:

With all due respect, it is not because of a lack of knowledge that your are not having victory over your sins. There comes a time to DO what you already know. However, I will come to your defense by stating that you will not become victorious over most of your sins unless and untill God determines that it is now time. I can only speak with authority when it comes to my own life. I had veasures of success in overcoming some things virtually the moment I learned the truth concerning them. For example, I quite using the Name of Jesus and God in profanity the week I came to realize how bad it was, and that was forty-five years ago, and I have never slipped up on it even once since then.

But the "lust of the flesh and the lust of the eys and the pride of life," are the biggies that God will allow to drag on in one's life until they really get sick of these sins. Some people never get sick of these sins--they LIKE them.  But the "Goodness of God" (Rom. 2:4) can make you repent and abhore these things.  We never conquer every sin as long as we are in the flesh, but we can come to the place that "sin no longer REIGNS over us."  I have no desire to sin. I do not think about sinning. There is nothing in the realm of sin that has any value to me.  I'll let Jesus be my Judge as to how far I have come in overcoming sin.  You have to cry out to God to rescue from sin. You cannot and you will not do it on your own power.

        God be with you,

        Ray

       Hope this helps somewhat, Samson.

I know it is probably a male you were expecting to here from. From a woman's point of view, it is just has hard on a young female has it is a young man has yourself. I quoted my husband above: Even at 54 men of all ages has problems. Some of the problems come from the female race dressing so men of all ages has to look and pay attention. Trying not to do something your mind is set on is hard, take one day at a time. We can pray and ask God for guidance and help to overcome a sin but he will answer on his time not ours. I know it is hard to be patient and try not to sin, but all we can do is wait.
He has a plan for you and only when he is ready will you see it. This may not be what you wanted to hear, but I felt I had to try and let you know that even us females have our problems. We may not admit it, or tell anyone but we do. I will pray for you, and hope all goes well.
