--- Quote from: roperfam ---I dont' know if this is meditation or not, but do you guys find yourself, everywhere you go thinking about all the exciting good news we've learned.  God has implanted such a strong desire for more of his word, I find myself constantly thinking of these things, not even having to purposely meditate.
--- End quote ---

Yes I do, the great mysteries and grace and love our Lord represents are never far from my mind, whether at work or with the family and friends I find myself contemplating His wonderful plan. There are times (often) when I wish I could spend all of my waking hours studying and meditating and serving. I used the word meditating not because I am sitting cross legged on the floor, forefinger to thumb humming a mantra but because I clear my mind of my worldly obligations and contemplate the spiritual. Sometimes it becomes so overwhelming I must shut it down, my own unworthiness of this great gift and my insignificant self being important to the Creator of the universe is too much for my puny mind to contain.

Great thread!

Satch:
I also try to find the time to meditate on many things. What it means to me is a quiet place, away from phones and interruptions that allows me to clear my mind and think on various things. At the present, I am still trying to "rebound" from losses of family members, the news of my child's cancer and other situations. That quiet time is a comfort to me as it allows me to open my mind to what God is doing in these situations and the peson He is molding me into.

Dennis Vogel:
Psa 46:10  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

It's not all that easy to do is slow down your thinking process and be still.

shibboleth:
According to the dictionary, meditate means to ponder, to think about, to look into a subject or study it.
We are told in scripture to study, to compare scripture with scripture, to have the mind of Christ, to leave behind the elementary doctrines of milk and move onto meat.{I had to eat veggies, before I got into meat. I'm still eating veggies.} We are also told the holy spirit will lead us into all truth. So we will learn truth if we study and ponder the Word that God has given us to study. I think The Lord also will show us how two seeminly contradictory passages of scripture are really not, if we ask Him and think on the verses.
Devolutionevolvd- I like the Ayn Rand quote. I have read her books and find her mind as sharp as a tack. She made a statement in Atlas Shrugged about the absurdity of original sin. She was an athiest, but we will see her one day, a changed woman who worships God!
