Bible in ten words?
« on: January 30, 2012, 01:39:52 AM »

The Bible is a very big book. If you had to explain to someone what
the Bible is about, in 10 words or less, what would you say to them?

God creates everything, and reveals some things.  Everybody reacts differently.

I guess I was wondering if the central message/teaching of the Bible
can be articulated by the discipline of extreme brevity. When you
have so few words, what is important? What is not?

How about:

Why am I here and where did I come from?

or

The Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth.

The Bible is about.....

The creation process in becoming God's own likeness and image.

Or

The process to create a being into God's likeness.

God is 100% Sovereign that get's whatever He Desires.

That's Nine words, not too shabby. Think about the above Marrcus, if He is 100% Sovereign, it would be blasphemous to suggest He won't get whatever He wants, wishes, desires, Wills. Get it, 1Tim. 4:9-11; 1Tim.3:2-6;2Peter.3:9; ie-Desires that all Men be saved, desires that NONE perish, He's a propitiatory sacrifice for the WHOLE WORLD, WILL draw or drag all Men to Himself. Those Nine words in my sentence covers all of that.

Carry On, Samson.

"Religion will never meet up to Love's standard no matter how hard you try!"   It's 15 words but it's true!

Religion's standard for following Laws/Rules to make sure you never sin will never work.

God's nature(Love) when by default from within will never sin. It is not in its nature to sin. We are to fulfill the law from within!

rev, if your post was intended to address the word "legal" in my posting, the bible consists of an old and a new covenant, or contract.   that says nothing to the nature of the contract or how it is fulfilled.

that's if you were, you know, addressing the word, legal, you know, in my, er'um, post...

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved

Acts 16:31....  OK its 11 words  :-[

But aren't the scriptures, at least for those chosen in this life, mainly intended for His bride? To me, that is beautiful, wonderful, and sobering, all at the same time.
