Yes money frequently 'is the result of being better at something than someone else' but sometimes it is the result of innovation.  Look at Mark Zuckerberg (facebook) who had computer skills similar to other college graduates.  He became rich with an idea brought to fruition.  Now, having money and/or being better at something than someone else does not always make one vain.
