Well, it's a valuable learning experience.  ::)
And truly it is nothing compared to what Lord Jesus suffered for us.
And it has given me empathy for the single men I know.
Tolerance, longsuffering, sacrificial love expecting nothing in return.
Helping with the house work with a smile. Brushing her hair for 30 minutes while watching TV. Letting the spirit remind me several times during a conversation to let my response fade away or just keep it to myself. Learning to be a better listener rather than a man who solves problems & fixes things.
Hey, the book says that I'm the leader, the example for her to observe, right?
So, if this is all I have to overcome, how better to illustrate real love.

Plus, I'm really not that pretty any more what with no hair and all the wrinkles and she is just as beautiful as ever.

bob, i just now read your last post response on this thread.  the part which i have bolded above, completely made my heart smile.  i especially am touched by the part which i have underlined.  i'm not sure if you are meaning that you brush your wife's hair, or if your saying you watch her as she brushes her hair for 30 mins., but either way, i find it a very tender image. 

thank you for sharing your life with us.  your responses are full of experience and wisdom gained along the way.
