Dear Nicky:

I have answered this question many times. Suicide is not condemned in the Scriptures as a sin. But in some cases it surely is a sin. However, we must consider that Jesus in a real sense committed suicide.  That is, He said that no man TAKES His life from Him, but that He voluntarily lays down His life John 10:17-18). And He did this on a predetermined day. Likewise John 15:13 tells us that "greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

However, killing oneself just to spite someone else or for no good reason is certainly a sin. But like all sins, it will be brought into judgment and the sinner purged.  Yes, we will all know our loved ones in our future life.
