I can only imagine.  She said at that concert in Kentucky it was the prettiest hall she'd ever play in.  I'm sure the acoustics were perfect too.

There are so many good musicians out there. And there are many good composers that write liricks that seem very meaningful as well. (So many many styles of music I like and many others that I still want to learn to listen at and be able to enjoy them!) There is even some christian music that have nice liricks and very good music .

What there is scarcity is good composers (with good quality music) with very meaninful liricks that match with the way they are living their life (you know; ''the medium - part of the message'')...

Maybe that is why this tread was made on the first place?  It would be nice to hear an honest spiritual brother singing a spiritual song. A song that he really meant and that doesn't have a perverted image of God on the background (as most of Christian music does).

Thanks Claudia. I try really hard.
Now Gina I looked up the term extra-spesher in the urban dictionary and here's what I found.

1. Spesher
A Spesher is a un-intelligent, clumsy or social retard
Example of usage:
"you see that guy over there"
"yeah?"
"he thought we was friends because he knew my name"
"hahaha what a spesher"

I didn't find a definition of extra, so I'm not sure what 'extra-spesher' really means.
My take is that it's a player of some quality .... like me (of the fool no doubt)

now Gina, don't go have a sargasm...

sargasm:
deriving far too much satisfaction from glibly berating another with sarcasm.
"Oh, thanks a lot for drinking my last beer! No, it's my fault... if I wanted it for myself, I shouldn't have put it in the fridge!"
"Dude, don't have a sargasm."

I play alto sax and I have been influenced by a number of musicians!
I love the jazz standards and latin/cuban music!
Here are two of my favorite musicians:
Wynton Marsalis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl3hIjAHicI
John Coltrane
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpoyOwKJ1A0
I heard this song on the cosby show and new I wanted to play saxophone.

I always wanted to sound like Paul Desmond and continue to practice to sound as smooth as he does!

When you mention John Coltrane, you're speaking my language.
"In 1959, Coltrane played on two of the greatest jazz recordings of all-time:  Giant Steps (his own recording) and Kind of Blue (with Miles Davis).  On Giant Steps, Trane took Bebop/Hard Bop to it's natural conclusion, by shoving more (and complex) chord changes into the song than ever before.  On Kind of Blue, the chord changes are very slow, because it is modal, and Coltrane plays some beautiful melodic solos.  His solo on the song Blue In Green is one of the most beautiful slow-tempo solos you'll ever hear."

Right now I'm learning to play some Iron Maiden stuff on bass. I really like Steve Harris' work. Here's a cool medley video of some stuff he's done. It's not him, but the guy playing is pretty good.

Back when I played drums, I looked up a lot to (the late) Eric Carr of KISS. Probably not the most technical, but I loved the power/style he had. Here's a link to a solo of his that I used to enjoy playing:

Play the guitar, mandolin, harmonica, Irish whistle, strum stick. (Not all at once)

If you want to hear an awesome guitar player, check out Tommy Emmanuel on Youtube.

I saw him live a few weeks ago and I'm still in awe.

The pyrotechnics? Oh, yeah. KISS could definitely put on a good show.

Pink Floyd was really good also. They're less 'explosive', but definitely had some cool visuals (lasers, etc) the last time I went to see them.

I played some Peart/Rush before back when I was doing more technical/progressive stuff on drums. The time signature changes can be a lot of fun.

Have you ever heard of Dream Theater?

Their drummer, Mike Portnoy, was a big fan of Peart's I believe. He's incredibly good on drums.
