Trying to be happy...
« on: August 02, 2012, 04:16:44 AM »

This is a man who I used to listen to on my record player (yes, a record player!) back in the 70's.  My sister is now friends with George Carlin's daughter (long story).  She and I were invited to have Thanksgiving dinner at Kelly Carlin's and her husband's (charming and totally unpretentious home) in L.A. a couple years ago.   didn't feel like I was inside the home of the daughter of this very famous comedian who I loved; it was just another Thanksgiving dinner -- except there was no fighting. :-)

I think you all know that there have been some pretty good movies with a valuable lesson for the masses that had to be edited for TV exposure.

In like manner I would like to see a G rated edition of Carlin's work edited for the consumption of the masses that didn't use such strong language.

i enjoyed listening (on LP's) to Bill Cosby and I think it was something about "my brother Russell", not quite sure of title (too many years)

we were on a cruise a couple years ago and there was an excellent comedian; he had us crying which is amazing because there was no foul language etc.; proves you don't have to be colourful to be funny!!
