I've always wanted to go to a college like Stanford but I could never afford that. I think this is so cool!

Hi Gina,
I agree with your assessment of the value of the program illustrated in the video.
I note also that it is not something brand new. This approach in large part has been tried and found effective in many smaller schools. The main difference I think is that it was not available to the majority of people who needed it. Personal mentoring in relatively small groups has always been used by those who could afford it.
One caution relating to how it may be used by institutions supported by the Federal government; we need to keep in mind the government leaning toward brainwashing the students they support and leading them toward a socialist/dependent form of government. Even with independent thinking being encouraged, the traits of human nature continue to override altruism and love toward God and toward our fellow man equal to that we hold for ourselves.

I love Ted Talks - I discovered them a few years ago.
I'm 100% self taught and I was just thinking that perhaps I should do something new for a living. This could help.
Thanks.
Gina:
Yes, I discovered them around the same time, Dennis. Thank God for technology. I can't get over the times I live in.
Hey, Bob. I hear ya. I don't know about all the schools involved in this endeavor, but Stanford is a private University -- but I also know that doesn't mean much these days. I'd like to think collectively there's more "baby" than "bathwater."

have you thought about something already?
So many interesting subjects on the web, so much information about pretty much anything, so much time on the computer, so little time on this life to get ahead with all that...
I am pretty much self taught as well.
Right now I am just trying to taught my self to take things slower.
