Was Jesus a Jew

Just a question. Perhaps it is a silly question, but any thoughts or info would be nice. Perhaps it has been discussed.
Was Jesus a Jew? The reason I ask is where does the Jewish heritage come into play. Jesus is the Son of the Father(God.) Is God a Jew? I understand the SEED as one, not many. And Gen 9:9  And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
Gen_15:18  In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Gen_16:10  And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
The first time Jew is mentioned in the Bible is Est_2:5  Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite;

In one sense, there is definitely the question as to whether Jesus was a Jew - by descent.
Matthew 1: 1: "This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham:..."
And Abraham, through his sons Ishmael and Isaac, is considered the spiritual father of Jews, Christians, (and Muslims).
The only problem is that the Bible doesn't state where Abraham was born.
Abraham first appears in the Bible in Genesis 11:27 as Abram.
His dad, Terah, a descendant of Noah's son Shem, had three children: Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
Genesis 11:28 states that Abram's youngest brother, Haran, died in a place called Ur of the Chaldeans in the land of his birth. (It does not say that Abraham was born in Ur.)
And, where was this place called Ur of the Chaldeans?
Not even scholars and researchers are sure of its location.

Joel:
Jew is derived from the name Juda.
Hebrews 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
Revelations 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Genesis 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men , but of God.
Matthew 27:37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

John from Kentucky:
Jesus had a human mother.  Her genealogy is listed in the Gospel of Luke.  Her descent is from the tribe of Judah.  Jewish mother, Jewish Son.
