Moses and Elijah at the Transfiguration

Hey all. I'm still testing the concept of people not going to heaven when they die.

I have a simple question. If, when we die, we go to the grave, how were Moses and Elijah alive and in physical form when Jesus was visited by them during His Transfiguration? Also, what about what Jesus said: Our God is not the God of the dead, but of the living?
