 I will NEVER forget the time that I was BAD as a kid and my Dad took me upstairs to spank me.
He said: "Do you know how much it hurts ME to spank you when you are bad?
I said: No--
He said: I will show you--here is the paddle--YOU SPANK ME FOR WHAT YOU DID! He made me paddle him HARD!
I cried all the time I paddled him--it HURT worse than getting paddled MYSELF!
I will NEVER FORGET!!

(He NEVER spanked me with his bare hands! WHY?
He said: I always want you to see my HANDS as LOVING and supportive---never as punishment tools--.)

I can relate. Discipline from my Mom and Dad were done in love even though I did not know it then.

My dad was a chicken....he would always threaten, but we'd get a warning, then a 12th warning and my brother and i would lie in bed laughing our heads off, and then get another warning. Mom was the spanker and she had a habit of over doing it sometimes.
