Going out on a limb here...but it seems like these are the churches and pastors of Babylon, known as the whore etc. these statistics show that these "pastors" and "churches" are not truly called of God.  On the positive side, this could be the process of burning of or doing away with the flesh for some...humility is a tough lesson.  My personal opinion is that a lot of people jump into some sort of ministry offer missionary work who are not spiritually ready and more often than not do not have a real relationship with God nor a true understanding of the gospel.
