I think it is better understood as "has no forgiveness in the coming age and is in danger of the 'judgment' " e.g. the final judgment or evaluation.
I believe Ray Smith commented on this.

Thanks for your reply to this thread, the wording of this scripture is leading the reader to believe that there is a sin that will never be forgiven which is outright wrong.

 Christendom believes that some people will get saved while the rest go to eternal damnation.
We here at B.T. understand about the age/ ages and what the white throne judgement is about.

But what about those who know not the things we know here. The wording of this scripture is so deceiving its pathetic.

You know, if just one person does not get saved , then Jesus failed. But we know Jesus does not fail, Jesus is very good at what He does, and what He does is save.

I disagree with your statement ( seem’s legit ) because to lead anyone to believe they can commit a sin that will never be forgiven is a lie straight from the devil.

Jesus is savior of the whole world.  ;)

Every translation of the Scriptures contain errors, some more so than others.  It takes study to find the errors.  As the Scriptures say, Line upon line, line upon line, precept upon precept, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little.

Below is an email from Ray that discusses this unpardonable sin issue.  Ray discusses the difference in the words not and never.  We all need to read words carefully and study by the use of concordances and other aids how the words in the original scriptural languages are translated into our own languages.
