Matthew 27:51-53

Hey guys and gals,

Matthew 27:51-53 CV- And lo! the curtain of the temple is rent in two from above to the bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks are rent,
and the tombs were opened. And many bodies of the reposing saints were roused,
and, coming out of the tombs after His rousing, they entered into the holy city and are disclosed to many.

Can anyone help me out on this verse?  Is this speaking of future events?  Thanks!

No, this was just one of the many testaments to Christ being the Son of God. All these saints eventually died again and await the resurrection of the dead at Judgment day.

The curtain is a barrier that was torn in two,now granting access to the father (understanding what Christ accomplished)symbolism like baptism,circumcision,attending church,communion with wafers and grape juice are no longer needed "to get the Fathers attention" -

The earth is unregenerate persons who are now shaken to the core (earthquake)at the presence of light,The rock hard teachings of this world are smashed,darkness is exposed (toombs opened) you heard the phrase "white washed Tombs" Look at Pauls conversion in Acts

We then start to enter the kingdom the new Jerusalem (Gods way of doing things) and are accepted as brothers sons daughters for which the whole creation awaits - Rom 8v19
