Cabby
« on: November 29, 2014, 06:28:19 PM »

Cabby picks up a Nun.
She gets into the cab, and notices that the very handsome
cab driver won't stop staring at her. She asks him why he is staring.
He replies: "I have a question to ask you but I don't want
to offend you."
She answers, "My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as
old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive."
"Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me."
She responds, "Well, let's see what we can do about that:
#1, you have to be single and #2, you must be Catholic."
The cab driver is very excited and says,
"Yes, I'm single and Catholic!"
"OK" the nun says. "Pull into the next alley."
The nun fulfills his fantasy, with a kiss that would make a hooker blush!
When they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying.
"My dear child," says the nun, "why are you crying?"
"Forgive me, but I've sinned. I lied and I must confess -- I'm married and I'm Jewish."
The nun says, "That's OK....

My name is Kevin and I'm going to a Halloween party."

Lots of things are amusing but not appropriate for this type of forum. This is not appropriate.

Would Jesus tell this joke?

Would Jesus find it funny?

Would Jesus find it offensive?

Would Jesus find it demeaning to others?

Would Jesus find the joke funny?  I do not know.  I do not speak for Jesus.

Jesus did create man and woman.  Jesus did create sex ( :o )  Jesus did create humor and laughter.

I found the joke funny, and I will pass along the joke to my Catholic family.

I know most Christians cannot appreciate humor because they are too busy being righteous.

Thank God I am not a Christian.  Thank you Jesus!  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Some day I would like to sit down with Jesus, drink a beer with Him, and discuss the finer points of humor.

Right now we are spending "other people's money" on Google ads John. There are new people coming to this forum everyday.

I do not want to give them the wrong impression on their very first visit (even if they are currently judgmental).

Homosexuals are also God's children. Many with qualities we lack. This joke paints them all with the same brush.

Jesus dwelling in me speaks: "This is not appropriate for this forum."

Quote
Thank God I am not a Christian.  Thank you Jesus!  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Luk 18:10  Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

Luk 18:11  The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

Luk 18:12  I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

Luk 18:13  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

Luk 18:14  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Hi Dennis,

I will show Christian whatever and limit my response.

But one thing I must ask you.  Your quote, which I highlighted above.  Are you saying homosexuals would be offended by the above joke?  The "Cabby" joke at the top of this thread?  What does it have to do with homosexuals?

I can see where the joke could offend Catholic nuns.  But homosexuals?

I am dumbfounded by your statement.  Please enlighten me.

My added comments

O.K. Dennis, O.K.  I just read the line at the bottom of the joke that says "My name is Kevin..."

I just missed that altogether.  I thought that bottom line was a mistake and didn't apply to the body of the main joke.  I've been working too much lately.  Big dumb me missed the connection between the top and bottom of the joke.

I see where you're coming from now.

I'll mind my own business.  But I see where we may disagree about homosexuals.

In the OP there is a huge gap between the last statement of the joke - I didn't notice that when I first read it. I'm not sure if homosexuals would be offended by the joke, but there are clearly homosexual overtones here and I personally found this joke distasteful for this forum.

On a side note this forum seems to be spirally downward lately - personal agendas, too much teaching and a lot of haughty attitudes.
