Spiritual commandments
Sparrowvision:
How do we get that? Repent & OBEY the gospel! "A good understanding have all they that DO His commandments." There are hundreds and hundreds of spiritual commandments in the New Testament Scriptures. You must OBEY those commandments. All of my writing are designed to help people better understand this commandments. That's why God has teachers. I personally try to obey ALL OF GODS SPIRITUAL COMMANDMENTS in the New Testament". What do you think Ray meant by 100's and 100's of "spiritual commandments"? I've seen lists of "The commandments of Christ" but they don't seem in the hundreds and hundreds. This quote is found in emails to Ray "I need guidance" Thanks
Dave in Tenn:
I'm pulling this up from a "a study" I did a while back. These aren't '100's and 100's' either, but these are just some of the 'do nots' and 'be nots' I found.
I was thinking about the 'doing' of the word and thought I'd look up references concerning what NOT to do, seeing that there is a lot about what not to do/how not to be. The basic tenor and tone of these struck me.
Those who understand, remember two things:
1. Not all these verses are complete thoughts.
2. No Scripture is its own interpretation.
Also, this is not a complete 'list', though it may be a worthwhile thing to do to compile one. Is this part of what makes the new covenant 'new'?
Anyways, here's what I have. Feel free to add verses that tell us what NOT to do/be.
Mat 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
Mat 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16 | NIV | life
I searched the interweb for "spiritual commandments" and gave up after 5 pages of "The 10 Commandments - spiritized."
1 Corinthians 2:16 "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."
I don't mean this to be a response to anything other than Sparrowvision's priginal post. Not a rebuttal - we have the mind of Christ.
rick:
Jesus also said, be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect. And He also said I can do nothing on my own.
How do we do all these thing ? We don’t, only the Spirit of God can do these things in us.
But the desire to do them is a good desire.
I like that scripture that says the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak but remember in our weakness He is strong.
Wisdom says wait on the lord.
God bless.
