Okay largeli, I guess I just don't get your indifference. Surely it is the destiny of all mankind to become sons and daughters of God.

As far as I can see this physical existence is just a temporary starting point to reach that ultimate goal of being in the kingdom... so why would you procrastinate about that. You have your eyes opened to these truths that so few have been so privileged to understand.

But certainly it is a narrow road and a long race, it does require a great amount of (or more like a complete) denying of self to put on Christ. I guess it can seem like too much... but it's really hard to comprehend you feel that way.

Largeli, I had a similar 'aversion' (for lack of a better word) to the idea of 'ruling' and 'judging' until I saw in scripture the attitude of heart that made a good 'judge'.  Among other passages, this one has struck me hard:

Mar 9:33  And they came to Capernaum. And having come into the house, He questioned them, What were you disputing to yourselves in the way?
Mar 9:34  And they were silent, for they argued with one another in the way as to who was greater.
Mar 9:35  And sitting, He called the Twelve and said to them, If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.
Mar 9:36  And taking a child, He set it in their midst, and having embraced it, He said to them,
Mar 9:37  Whoever receives one of such children on My name receives Me. And whoever receives Me does not receive Me, but the One having sent Me.

In the same way that Christ Humbled Himself in order to be exalted, we are to humble ourselves.  I don't see that humility going away in the Kingdom.

Why not?

Gal 5:19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Gal 5:26  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

What is the contrast?  Those who follow the evils of Galatians 5:19-21 shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.  Those full of the fruit of His Spirit and who live and walk in It, who have crucified the flesh with the evils recounted in 5:19-21 and who are not desirous of vain-glory, provocation, and envy are candidates for the positions.

This isn't the way the world works, nor is it the way much of the Church (that most worldly of institutions) works.  "Desiring" the Kingdom is not the same as desiring worldly power, and even more importantly, it isn't 'achieved' with the same means or with the same motivation.

In serving God to bring about the salvation of the whole world, I'm reminded too that forgiveness is the beginning of Salvation.  The Lake of Fire is in the Presence of the Lamb.  Let everyone who is hungry and thirsty come.

Heb 10:32  But you must continue to remember those earlier days, how after you were enlightened you endured a hard and painful struggle.

Take my post as an addendum to Kat and Dave.

Mark 10:35-45
35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
40 But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Matthew 20:25-28
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

1 Corinthians 11:1 Imitate me, as I also imitate Christ.

1 Peter 2:21 For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in His steps.

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Lol, Kat if I were to psycho-analyze myself I might say my indifference is probably a defense mechanism of mine to avoid disappointment.. I know that most Christians are Christians because at one time someone told them that if they want to avoid hell and go to heaven then they better be a Christian. If I were to desire to be an elect in the first resurection,  I don't want my motive to be to avoid the lake of fire, you know?

Alex I'm asking these questions to better understand what it is I believe and why I believe it. Will satan eventually be saved? I thought I read somewhere where Ray wrote something regarding that.. And if so, will satan be a son of God?
