JUDGMENT BY FIRE

<< < (3/3)

Kat:

Hi Porter, I think God is dealing with each of us according to our personality and what talents/abilities He is building in us, and some of us are more stubborn and need a firmer hand in correcting the error of our ways. Also I think we tend to deal with trials differently, some looking on their suffering as devastating, while another just takes it in stride. But we all must have our beast - carnality brought into submission (only can be done the Holy Spirit indwelling), one way or another, "I must decrease." The thing is God knows exactly how to deal with each of us and when it's time to give us a rest.

2Peter 2:9  then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment,

Jer 29:10  For thus says the LORD: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place.
v. 11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
v. 12  Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
v. 13  And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Jesus Christ lived a physical life as a man and knows what suffering is like, He is a loving God and though the lessons He is teaching us is hard, He sympathizes with us and is very merciful with us.

Heb 4:15  For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
v. 16  Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

In all this suffering He wants us to trust Him and have faith that He will get us through it and we will be better because of it... so the 'escape' will be provided and will always come at the right time that it's needed. It's a process, and it takes time, maybe we begin to think it's too much or takes too long, but God with all His mercy and grace knows what is best and not too much for us.

It is developing that attitude of complete trust, that comes from the trials we have and that's what He wants in us. So we go through these things as we are being made new, and eventually we begin to understand that the trials are worth what we are gaining from them.

2Co 4:16  Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

Php 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
v. 5  Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
v. 6  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
v. 7  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

mercy, peace and love
