Hi,

What does it mean "to not worry about tomorrow?"
When planning for tomorrow--will that be considered worrying about tomorrow?

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that you already know the answer to your question, but it is a good discussion point.

There are some interesting things about Matthew 6:34.

Jesus said "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

The word thereof is autos him,her,it,thereselves but a possible root is aer - a backward baffling wind.

Mat 6:34  Therefore do not worry (G3309) about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Thayer Definition:
G3309 merimnaō - 1) to be anxious. 1a) to be troubled with cares.

To worry is be anxious, overly concerned, troubled by real or perceived difficulty or troubles. It's the lack of peace of mind about things.

Where as planning is preparing or getting ready for doing or achieving something. Not the same thing to me. Even Christ said He was going to "prepare" for the age to come.

John 14:2  In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

1Peter 5:6  Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
v. 7  casting all your care (G3308) upon Him, for He cares for you.

Thayer Definition:
G3308 merimna - 1) care, anxiety
