"Once Lost"

"Once Lost"



I once was lost, but now am found

My feet once again planted on solid ground

As if blinded, I had lost all sense of direction

Then, finally, I saw a Light...or was it His reflection

With my eyes fixed upon it, I stumbled and fell

As I found another road obviously not traveled so well

For it had many obstacles in its path that seemed to hinder my way

Deep within my soul was a burning desire to seek out this Light

And the flame that burned within kept me from turning away

I arrived surrounded by darkness like the night

My body tired and weary...battered and worn

And my spirit...broken...feeling so forlorn

With a penitent heart

I won the race of Life as I crossed the mark

I crawled into the circle of Light and as I looked up I could see

Jesus nailed to the Cross...tho' bleeding and beaten His eyes fixed upon me

Accept and believe in Me was His invitation

And so I did...without any hesitation

Rise up and follow Me, My Child...for I am the Way

Now go in peace and share this invitation with others today

To God be the Glory!

Unfortunately I didn't write it. I have tried poetry before, it didn't work out very well although I do have some stuff from when I was much much younger.  I found this and thought it was beautiful and wanted to share it with you all.
