grease monkey?
« on: June 20, 2016, 06:24:03 PM »

Does anyone here happen to be a mechanic?  I have a question that Google hasn't been able to answer. Thanks.

Hi DEJI,
I don't claim to be any kind of mechanic.
Was just wondering if you had found the answer to your question yet?
I use to do some shade tree work myself to save on the high cost of taking it to most shops.
Would like to know what your question is anyway, and maybe someone with a similar life experience would pass some information on that could help you out.

Hello Joel
I have been able to solve the problem. It turned out that a solenoid was failing intermittently and causing the transmission to not engage while in reverse. Interestingly, I scanned the TCM with a scan tool and there were no codes. I have replaced the faulty soleniod and the car has been running happily since. Many thanks   :)

Hi DEJI,
Glad to hear that you found what you needed, vehicles can really have some puzzling issues these days.
I know that YouTube can be helpful at times, and provide a clue with a how to video as well.
Your post may help someone in the future.
Thanks.
