John,James and Peter
« on: August 09, 2016, 11:09:35 AM »

Mark 9:2 "And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them"

Why did Jesus take only James, John and Peter?  Why not the others?

Luke 8:51 "Now coming into the house, He lets no one enter together with Him, except Peter and James and John and the father of the girl and the mother."

Again, why were James, Peter and John the only ones to enter?  Why not the others?

I think Jesus took those three as witnesses of that event, don't know why he didn't take the rest.
Peter, James, and John are mentioned in the scriptures more than the others, and became know as the main leaders in the Church after Jesus arose from the dead.

Job -

Mark 9:2 "And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them"

Why did Jesus take only James, John and Peter?  Why not the others?

Luke 8:51 "Now coming into the house, He lets no one enter together with Him, except Peter and James and John and the father of the girl and the mother."

Again, why were James, Peter and John the only ones to enter?  Why not the others?

I believe Our Heavenly Father Selected Peter, James and John for specific functions: and we know that both Peter and John wrote some of the New Testament Letters (Epistles) and the Book of the Unveiling of Jesus Christ - and some say it was James (the son of Joseph and Mary) that wrote the Letter (Epistle) of James; so I am not sure if James (with Peter and John) wrote the Book of James.

So, Peter and John are the Elect's Spiritual witnesses with their God inspired Writings.

Perhaps, this is the reason, as they were the closest to Jesus Christ.

Kind Regards.

George

To me, it's just the way He works.  Somebody has to be first.  We don't all have identical experiences, and certainly not all at the same time.

James and John were brothers and possibly Jesus' first cousins.

The James who wrote the Book of James was another James and was a brother of Jesus.

We are all different.  Thank God.  Jesus had a special friendship with those three.  John may have been Jesus' first cousin, and they may have been close to the same age and grew up together.
