Second resurrection
« on: October 24, 2016, 06:08:16 PM »

Rev 20:5  This is the first resurrection. There must be a second. I am searching the LOF series for the second. I may have been close, but no cigar. Maybe I missed it. Can I get some help please? Thanks

Hi;

Quite a bit on the forum about it.  You can click on this link:  http://forums.bible-truths.com/index.php?action=search;advanced

That takes you to the advanced search page.  Type in the phrase 'second resurrection' without the quotes and then select match all words and you'll see every thread where it's talked about.

Here is one example from the search:  https://bible-truths.com/email10.htm

God intends for ALL OF HIS CHILDREN to live ETERNALLY WITH HIM IN GLORY. When and how is this accomplished according to the Scriptures?

It is true that ALL WILL BE SAVED (I Tim. 2:4 and 4:10 and a hundred other verses like this). However, NOT ALL are saved at the same time. Only those in the FIRST RESURRECTION will inherit the Kingdom of God on earth to reign with Christ. ONLY the "very ELECT."  ONLY those who "OVERCOME." ONLY the "manifested SONS OF GOD."

Eternity in heaven is NOT the "REWARD" of the saved. EVERYONE will eventually be in the realm of heaven with God for eternity. But ONLY those who are accounted worthy to be in the first resurrection will receive a SPECIAL MARVELOUS GLORIOUS REWARD. And what is that glorious reward: "EONIAN [AGE-ABIDING] LIFE, in the KINGDOM OF GOD, ruling and reigning with Christ's for "aions of the aions" until ALL in the heavens and ALL in the earth, and ALL under the earth [the deceased] are ALSO BROUGHT IN GOD'S FAMILY!  It is a special reward to occurs AGES before the rest of humanity receive salvation. This reward is all through the New Testament, but few indeed, seem to see it.

What then happens to the "life" of all those who were given "aionion life." Do they DIE?  Does their life come to AN END?  Just what comes to an end, in THE END? Why, the "AIONS" [THE AGES], of course, come to an end. Do the Saints of the first resurrection then DIE WITH THE AGES? NO!! How so? If the "aions" END, and "aionion life" ENDS, why does not the life of the resurrected Saints ALSO END?  Because God gave them IMMORTALITY AND INCORRUPTION FROM THE BEGINNING OF THEIR RESURRECTION, AND THEY STILL HAVE AND POSSES IT!

"Aionion" life, age-abiding life, the special reward part of the Saints life, ENDS--BUT IMMORTALITY AND INCORRUPTION DOES NOT END. Immortal life can NEVER END BECAUSE IMMORTALITY MEANS: DEATH=LESS=NESS--never to DIE! But in the SECOND resurrection ALL HUMANITY IS GIVEN IMMORTALITY. And it is the very judgment of the white throne and the spiritual, divine, cleaning of God's SPIRITUAL lake of fire than purifies all the wicked and unbelievers, until they ALL bow to the name of Jesus and call Him Lord and Saviour to the Glory of the Father   (Phil.2:10-11).

Hi Micah,

While the term second resurrection is never found in scripture one can infer a sort or type of second resurrection as you have done and as ray expounded upon.

As ray taught throughout the lake of fire series, aionion life is reserved for the elect, those who overcome, remain faithful until the end. They are raised as Jesus was. Spiritual bodies invisible and powerful like the wind and incapable of death--immortal.

Here is more to complement what he said in LOF: http://forums.bible-truths.com/index.php/topic,7474.msg59437.html#msg59437

This is why, unlike the world, the overcomers, those given immortality are not hurt by the second death. This is why they become the second death. As Isaiah said,

Isaiah 33:13-15
13 Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

and again He says in hebrews, "And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire." The saints judging the world as paul put it.

After judgment, which is now on the house of God but in the next age at the great white throne for the world, then does each individual become like God, birthed into the kingdom of God born of spirit, conformed to His image, and given immortality and incorruption.  Then do they inherit all things but not before!

So this can be thought of as 'the second' ressurection but try not to think of it as second meaning later in time but rather second in the reason for why they are ressurected. The first is the ressurection to life while a 'second' is to judgmenent but as I said originally, there is no scripture that specifically says 'second resurrection.'

Hopefully this helps some.

God bless,
Alex
