...so sad...
« on: August 22, 2006, 12:17:53 AM »

So yesterday I went to Family Christian Stores (a Christian chain of stores selling religious items) to see if I could find a greek bible, so I can study the bible more....I couldn't believe the price! $60! Talk about selling the word, sheesh....it's so sad that in order to get a hold of a bible you have to lay out so much...what gives? Well if anyone knows where I can get one without paying a weeks worth of Gas for it, let me know...

I don't know about a Greek Bible, but I use the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance.  Think I paid $29.95 for it on sale.
Now my Bible did cost an arm and a leg...$100
Then I have a Bible dictionary and a Bible reference book.
Have you tried Amazon or another internet book provider?
....A Greek Bible....haven't seen one of those.
Hope you have a fruitful search

I have found this web site helpful when looking for books on the web.

http://www.addall.com/

It will search many sites and come up with the prices.

Hope it helps.

God Bless,

FYI, I have a Hebrew/Greek Interlinear Bible numbered to Strongs Exhaustive Concordance, of which I have also. These books were expensive, but well worth it. However, I found:

http://www.blueletterbible.org/ Which has far better search tools and shows the Hebrew/Greek text and is linked to the Strongs Concordance.

I have not been able to find any discrepancies and the site is much easier to use and does not require reading glasses or a magnifying glass.

Others have suggested E-Sword, which I do not use, but I believe works without a network connection.

I know technology cannot surpass a good book, but sometimes a good book cannot surpass technology.

If you're on a tight budget, it might be worth a try.

With Love,

Darren
