monetization
ralph:
Hi Dennis. The fact that youtube denied your application is a good thing.
The Word of God with ads is a recipe for disaster. It will distract the viewer and the ads that play on your channel will more than likely be inappropriate and will lead people away. As a test, I just went to a Christian channel that has their videos optimized. At the beginning of the first video I viewed, there was an advertisement for an online class with the following description:
“How to Tune Into Your Spiritual Energy to Empower Your “Real World” and Live in Duality…Learn FOUR Powerful Yet Simple Energy Techniques To Tap Into Your Spiritual Body So You Can Easily Fine Tune Your Physical World For More Health, Wealth, Love, Inner Peace and Clarity.”
As you can see, this is a path you don't want to go down Brother.
If you are looking to reach more people, you need to optimize your videos better for search. Things like adding a good description, tags, title, transcripts, can make a big difference. There are inexpensive apps available that can help with optimization.
With love,
Ralph

It has nothing to do with getting revenue from YouTube Ralph. We don't get enough views to get any kind of a return. But it would have helped with more BT ads.
Thanks for the hint but I've been optimizing web sites for search engines since the '90s, so that's not the problem. As I said, this would have allowed us to run ads on YouTube.
Google: When you enable your channel for monetization, you can turn on ads for your videos. Ads are served through the AdSense auction, Google Ad Manager, and other YouTube-sold sources. Once you turn on monetization, it may take some time for ads to appear. ... Ads will not always appear on videos enabled for monetization.

Hi Dennis,
I know you weren't doing this to make money bro. That wasn't my point. I was referring to the content of the ads that will play on your channel and gave an example. I have also been doing this for many years which is why I reached out. I wasn't aware you had experience in this area, so please forgive me if I what I said insulted you in any way. I spend a great deal of time on youtube and have seen some rather distasteful ads appear on other channels. I was justing thinking about those folks coming to your channel who are new to the word of God and how those ads would affect them. Much love Brother. I wish you well with the Channel.

I edited my post because people cannot always tell the tone of voice in a post and I thought it may have come across harsh. But I was not insulted Ralph. I hope you understand.
It is good to know there is someone around with experience. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I updated the BT site a while back and made everything HTML 5 compliant and made the pages secure https.
The tags, titles, etc. help but there is a lot of competition and you have to stay on top of it continuously. And I learned Google will also put you close to the front of the line when you also spend money on their ads.
I'm now 76 and it's not as easy as it once was :)
Thanks

Good morning Dennis,
76 is a good number.
One doesn't often think about a writer's maturity when reading responses, but it does come to our attention from time to time. :)
As much as we appreciate the work that Ray Smith did to aid us in our journey of faith it is also a blessing to have a sponsor such as you are and have been all of these many years. To continue in faith, dealing with all the challenges of the web site and of this forum is a work of love that we sincerely appreciate.
Indiana Bob
