I'm redoing the "Jesus Christ: Sickly, Ugly, and Diseased?" video and having a hard time finding the translation Ray used. He says it's the "Revised Standard Version" and I bought that for e-Sword, but it is not close enough to what Ray quotes. Could there be two different Revised Standard Versions?
Listen to this
https://youtu.be/slsi11iYF6M?t=263 that starts at 4:24 minutes in.
Below is what the "Revised Standard Version" says. But compare it to what Ray quotes. There are important key words that are different. Namely the words "Majesty" and "Appearance"
Isa 53:2 For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or comeliness that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.
This continues thru-out the sermon. Sometimes Ray bounces between translations. In this video he quotes the King James and Concordant in addition to the other translation.
BTW, it's not that much unusual for Ray to get something of little consequence mixed up but I've spent hours on Google looking for the translation he is using.
Do any of you have time to research this and point me to the correct translation please? I've run out of places to look.
Let us know if looked and were not able to find it. Then someone else may give it a try.
Thanks
