1 Peter 3:18-20 may be alluding to the angels that sinned as well, especially verse 19, Jesus witnessing to them after His resurrection while they await their future judgment.

1 Peter 4:6…..For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead
( 1 Peter 3: 19,,, the spirits in prison) that though JUDGED IN THE FLESH the way people
are, they might live in the spirit, the way God does.

Rom.8: to quote Ray,  “ read it often”

Rev. 2:10, Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer, indeed
the devil is about to throw some of you into prison that you may be tested,,,,,,

The prophetic event that is known as the indignation of Almighty God is a totally different event from the the great  tribulation also know as Jacobs troubles.
God did not appoint us to wrath and indignation but He did appoint us to affliction
and tribulation. Paul tells us that that is how we enter the Kingdom of God , by going
through a whole lot of these things. Acts 14:22

Isaiah 29:6,,, When Thy judgements are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world
will learn righteousness.

all shall be made alive in Christ.
