I am reminded of one of Ray’s videos (don’t remember which one) where he talked about himself having a besetting sin when he was in his 50’s and up to that point (in his 50’s) he had not been able to overcome it.  And he was kind of resigned to it as he figured he was that old and had it for so many years that things would never change. 

He shared that one day he woke up and just didn’t desire to do it anymore and he felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.  He didn’t do anything special it’s just that when it was his time God did it and removed the burden.

He then quipped to the group that all of you want to know what that sin was (laughter).  He said it doesn’t matter as it’s all the same, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life.  The thing I took away from that is when it is God’s time for you to overcome then you will overcome.  We can’t hurry the process as we are totally incapable of ferreting out the root of the issue which is the carnal mind we are all born with.
