Isaiah 9:6

(1/1)

ralph:
If the following scripture is speaking about Christ, as I believe it is,  then it refers to him as "Everlasting Father". I am not certain how to explain this.  While Christ and The Father are one, Jesus Christ is not The Father.

Isaiah 9:6
6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Musterseed:
There is an email from Pattie who asks
“ so since our Father is the Holy Ghost, that means that Jesus is our Father ?????

The email is a long one and my fingers hurt but I will give the short answer.
Also maybe someone can find the email for you.

Jesus said to know Him is to know the Father, so clearly we know all that the Father is THROUGH
CHRIST, and that includes FATHERHOOD.Christ is the image of the invisible God.
Christ is EVERYTHING that the Father is only in the visible flesh of humanity.
In that respect Christ is our Father.

1 Tim 2:5.. There is one God .  God has bestowed on Jesus all that He is and all that He has, hence Jesus has the same Spirit. They both possess the same Spirit, and as they both possess the same Spirit
they are one.

There is lots more to this Email Ralph . I hope you can find it.

Some scriptures are Isa 63:16, Deu. 32:6, Isa. 64:8

Dennis Vogel:
Isaiah 9:6

(CLV)  For a Boy, He is born to us; A Son, He is given to us, And the chieftainship shall come to be on His shoulder, And one shall call His name Marvelous; Counsel to the master shall He bring, Unto the chief, well-being.

(Rotherham)  For, A Child, hath been born to us, A Son, hath been given to us, And the dominion is upon his shoulder,—And his Name hath been called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty GOD, Father of Futurity, Prince of Prosperity.
